This is an interesting view of the Ohio River from the infamous Cave in Rock Cave in Cave in Rock State Park in Cave in Rock, Illinois, just upriver about an hour from here. Early in the region's history, from this cave, river pirates would ambush passing boats, robbing and assaulting the passengers and crews. Now, although it has been pretty much overrun by humans, it is still an interesting place to visit.
